This Weekend: It’s All About 1984
The year 1984 was a big year.
Let’s rewind, shall we?
President Ronald Reagan ran for re-election and defeated Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro.
The Cold War was raging and the Soviet Union boycotted the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
The space shuttle Discovery launched for the first time from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
We also met the “Ghostbusters,” Kevin Bacon danced through a small town in “Footloose,” and John Hughes kicked off a string of still-beloved teen movies with “Sixteen Candles.”
1984 was also the year Michael Jackson’s hair caught fire, Alex Trebek gave us the first “Jeopardy!” answer, and the very first MTV Video Music Awards show aired!
Joe Cortese is going to bring you ALL the fun of 1984 this weekend on Retro Pop Reunion.
He’s playing all the biggest hits from ’84… the year that we wore “Sunglasses at Night” even though we had “Eyes Without a Face.”
The year that we all went “Footloose” and said “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go!”
It’s all about ’84 this weekend on RETRO POP REUNION!
