This Weekend: Friendsgiving Countdown
They started out as friends – and became huge hitmakers in the video music era!
This weekend on Retro Pop Reunion, we’re having a “Friendsgiving” celebration – highlighting the duos behind some of our favorite songs!
Professor of Pop Joe Cortese will tell us:
- One duo got their name after their landlord wrote it on their mailbox!
- A husband and wife duo are responsible for the biggest-selling movie soundtrack of the ’90s.
- And this duo met when she was working as a waitress, not in a cocktail bar, but in a restaurant. They went on to make “Sweet Dreams” together!
Also this weekend, “Stranger Things” will wrap up in 2025. The final season starts out in the fall of ’87 so we’ll do a round of hits from that year.
And the voice that we all heard when the email boom hit in the 1990s has passed – listen in the first hour for the voice that will “Linger!”
