Some say it’s the best summer EVER for music in the ’80s!
We’re talking about the summer of ’83 and this weekend on Retro Pop Reunion, Joe Cortese will play all the songs you know and love!
Here’s a few hints….
- The idea was to write a song to make enough money for the kids’ college tuition. The resulting song became one of the most played songs in the history of radio!
- Stevie Nicks was on her honeymoon and listened to Prince’s “Little Red Corvette.” It inspired her huge hit the summer of ’83!
- And on July 27, 1983, the debut album from this iconic artist was released. Her record company wanted to title it “Lucky Star,” but she wanted it named after herself. Who do you think she is?
Also this weekend, you’ve heard about Taylor Swift fans in Seattle getting so loud, it registered as an earthquake… well, Joe will tell you about the ’80s band who did it FIRST, this weekend on Retro Pop Reunion!
