Cher “Has Words To Say”

Happy 78th Birthday to Cher!

The singer-songwriter-actress is celebrating a big birthday today, but she may not be celebrating. She told Entertainment Tonight that “[I’ll be] putting my pillow over my head and screaming.”

We hope she’s joking because 78 may end up being a very big year for Cher!

In October, she will finally be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, alongside Mary J. Blige, Ozzy Osbourne, Foreigner, A Tribe Called Quest, Kool & the Gang, the Dave Matthews Band, and Peter Frampton.

Cher admitted to being a little salty about not being included until now. Last year, she told Kelly Clarkson that she wasn’t interested, not even if they “gave me a million dollars… I’m not going to change my mind. They can just you-know-what-themselves.”

Well, seems she has now changed her mind, because last week she said she was grateful for her induction and she would attend the ceremony on October 19 in Cleveland.

“I’m going to have some words to say. I’m going to accept it as me,” Cher told ET.

Cher rose to fame in 1965 as one-half of the husband-wife duo Sonny & Cher.  She went solo in the 1970s and has scored No. 1 hits in seven decades. She’s close to EGOT status, having won Grammys, an Emmy, and an Oscar (just missing a Tony). She has sold 100 million records and remains one of the world’s best-selling music artists.
